New redevelopment phase begins at Albert Park
A new phase of major redevelopment has begun at the Albert Park Circuit.
Following archaeological and environmental assessments of the surrounding area, demolition has started on the building that has housed team garages since 1995.
The new modern complex will include garages, race control, hospitality areas, and a media centre. In addition, seven covered sports courts, cafés and restaurants are planned. The full complex is expected to be completed in time for the 2028 Australian Grand Prix, while new garages and a temporary Paddock Club facility are scheduled to be ready as early as next year.
It is worth recalling that the circuit also underwent major changes in 2022, when its layout was partially redesigned.
Albert Park first joined the Formula 1 calendar in 1996 and has hosted races every year since, with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
